Tracey was appointed group head of corporate, public and regulatory affairs in March 217; brand and marketing was added to her portfolio in December 217. In March 218, she assumed her additional role of group head, compliance.

Prior to joining the bank, Tracey served as acting chief executive of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) from September 215 to June 216. She joined the then Financial Services Authority (FSA) in 21 where she held a number of senior roles, including: director of supervision and authorisations, and director of enforcement and financial crime. Tracey also served as a board member of the FSA from April 213, as a member of the financial policy committee of the Bank of England, and as non-executive director of the Prudential Regulatory Authority (PRA) from September 215 to June 216. Prior to joining the FCA, Tracey worked as a lawyer in private practice, having spent time in law firms in the UK, USA and Brussels. In 216, Tracey received a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) for her services to financial service consumers and markets.

Tracey is a board member of UK Finance; a member of the International Regulatory Strategy Group (IRSG) Council; and an honorary professor at the Centre for Commercial Law Studies, Queen Mary University of London.
