Suku Radia

Suku Radia currently serves as executive-in-residence at the Ivy College of Business, Iowa State University, and he serves on three corporate boards – Nationwide Insurance Co., Workiva (NYSE), and Professional Solutions Group.

Suku retired at the end of 217 as CEO of Bankers Trust, Iowa’s largest independent community bank with consolidated assets approximating $5. billion. Under his leadership, the assets of the bank grew threefold and the earnings of the bank increased from $11 million to $49 million. Prior to joining Bankers Trust, Suku served as chief financial officer of Meredith Corporation for eight years.

Suku was managing partner of KPMG in Des Moines from 1993 to 2, where he enjoyed a 25-year career. He earned a bachelor of science with distinction from Iowa State University in 1974 and became a certified public accountant in 1975, when he joined KPMG. He has also been active in a number of professional, economic development, educational, and charitable organizations. He has received over a dozen awards for his work in the community.

Born and raised in Kampala, Uganda, Suku came to the United States in 1971 to attend Iowa State University. Currently, he resides in West Des Moines, Iowa, with his wife, Dr. Mary Radia, a rheumatologist. A son, Ryan, is  currently pursuing a doctorate in economics at George Mason University and graduated in 215 from George Washington University law school; a daughter, Renée, completed her MBA at the University of Southern California and is employed as a director at HBO;  and a daughter, Natalie, a graduate of Columbia University and is employed in the New York education system.
