Executive Experience: Sue is an international retail senior executive with extensive experience as a CEO, COO, and CFO. She joined Golfsmith International (GOLF) in 28 as COO and CFO and became president, CEO, and a member of the board of directors in 212. She led market share growth in the US and Canada, was instrumental in improving the firm’s revenue in a declining market, tripled the profit of the web channel, enhanced operations, and improved profitability. She led the Golfsmith-Golf Town merger (finalized in 212), and as chief integration officer, integrated the two firms and positioned the company for growth. 

Prior to Golfsmith International, Sue worked as independent consultant for Alvarez and Marsal from 26-28, serving specialty retail and private equity clients. Sue began her career with Zale Corporation (ZLC). Her 25-year tenure spanned private and public ownership, and her roles evolved from accounting to operations, serving as VP of operations, SVP of strategic planning, treasurer, CFO, and EVP and COO.

Sue was a senior advisor for Alvarez & Marsal from 217 to 219. Her focus areas are in the Retail Performance Improvement (RPI) and Corporate Transformation Services (CTS) practices of the firm, providing clients with strategic planning and advisory services while significantly enhancing stakeholder value. She founded Excelsior Advisors, LLC, in August, 214, and has taken on assignments as Interim CEO and CFO in turnaround or special situations, including serving as CEO of Vitamin World – a carve out of NBTY Inc.
