Sean Duffy
Programme Clinical Director and Alliance Lead
West Yorkshire & Harrogate Cancer Alliance
Sean is a Professor of Healthcare Innovation in Cancer. He is also a clinician based in Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust where his clinical practice is in Gynaecology services. Sean has had many years as a clinician manager and leader using his academic interests in health services research to underpin his various roles. He started as Clinical Director in Women’s Services in 22 before becoming the Medical Director and overall Director of the Yorkshire Cancer Network in 25. In 213 he was appointed as National Clinical Director for Cancer for NHS England and played a central role in the development of the National Cancer Strategy, Achieving World Class Cancer Outcomes. Sean moved back to Yorkshire in 216 to implement the Cancer Strategy in Yorkshire as the Cancer Alliance lead for West Yorkshire and Harrogate, he also has a strategic cancer clinical lead role in Leeds. Sean has been part of the development of the West Yorkshire and Harrogate Healthcare Partnership from its very beginning and is part of the Senior Leadership Executive team.
