Robin Budenberg

Robin joined the Board in October 22 and became chair on 1 January 221. Robin has extensive financial services experience and has advised major UK corporates on strategy and governance throughout his career.

He was responsible for oversight of these issues when managing the government’s investments in UK banks following the 28 financial crisis. He is a qualified chartered accountant and holds a bachelor of law from the University of Exeter.

He was awarded a CBE in 215 for services to the taxpayer and the economy.

Former appointments

Robin is the former London Chair of Centerview Partners, former chief executive and chair of UK Financial Investments (UKFI) and was previously a non-executive director of Big Society Trust and senior independent director of Charity Bank Limited.

He spent 25 years advising UK companies and the UK government whilst working for S.G. Warburg/UBS Investment Bank.

Robin is chair of the nomination and governance committee and a member of the board risk committee, the remuneration committee, and the responsible business committee.
