Executive experience: René was finance director of Anglo American from September 25 to April 217 and retired from the company in January 218, after more than 12 years. From June 2 to May 25 he was group finance director of The BOC Group. Until June 212, he was a non-executive director of SSE plc and until December 217 he was a non-executive director of De Beers and Anglo Platinum Limited. Following the delisting of their securities from the London Stock Exchange in January 22, René stepped down as a non-executive director of Cobham.
