Peter Porrino

Audit Committee Chair and Risk and Capital Committee Chair

Peter has sat on the board of American International Group (AIG) since May 219 and serves as their audit committee chair and risk and capital committee chair. Prior to that he was the executive vice president and chief financial officer of XL Group from 211 until his retirement as CFO in 217. Upon retiring as CFO, he continued to work part time as a senior advisor to the CEO and was instrumental in the sale of XL to Axa in 218.

Prior to joining XL, Peter had two stints as a partner at Ernst & Young before retiring. He first spent 15 years (5 as a partner) in the insurance audit practice. After 6 years working for two insurance companies, he returned to lead EY’s $1 billion global insurance industry practice until he retired in 211.

Peter has an MBA in finance from NYU and is a 1978 summa cum laude graduate of Pace University. He serves as the chair of the finance committee and member of the board of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. He and his wife Andrea have two children and three grandchildren and are residents of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
