Patty Vasalos

Patty Vasalos is a Technical Director at the College of American Pathologist (CAP) and supports high level technical initiatives within the Laboratory Improvement Program Division. Patty serves as the CAP alliance manager to the Association of Molecular Pathology (AMP). Patty also collaborates with the advocacy arm of the CAP in support of projects with the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine (Roundtable on Genomics and Precision Health), for local coverage decisions, and for initiatives relating to laboratory developed tests. Patty serves as the professional staff liaison to member groups within the CAP, including expert panels for molecular oncology and next-generation sequencing.

Prior to joining the CAP, Patty held positions at NorthShore University Health Systems, Advocate Health Care and ACL Laboratories as a medical technologist where she was integral to the success of the molecular and cytogenetic testing conducted at these healthcare institutions.

Patty holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago and has served in an officer capacity for the School of Medical Technology.
