Matthew Vahidi

Vice President

BlackRock Investment Stewardship

Matthew Vahidi is a vice president on BlackRock’s Americas Investment Stewardship team. Matthew serves as the lead analyst for the Americas financial services sector and is responsible for the evaluation of corporate governance, proxy voting and engagement with boards and management across this portfolio. This work includes regular engagement with executives and directors of BlackRock’s portfolio companies, in this sector, on matters related to corporate strategy, governance, environmental and social matters, M&A considerations, proxy contests and hostile takeover bids, and votes BlackRock’s shares in relation thereto.

Matthew has a particular expertise in corporate organization and corporate governance law. Prior to joining the Americas BlackRock Investment Stewardship team, Matthew was a member of the corporate legal team within the legal & compliance department and is the assistant corporate secretary of BlackRock, Inc. He works with the corporate legal team on a variety of corporate legal and governance matters, including the support of BlackRock, Inc.’s board, the administration of our US corporate subsidiary structure and our compliance with NYSE and SEC regulations.

Matthew received his JD from Fordham Law School and BA from New York University.
