Mary Francis

Mary Francis is a non-executive director of Barclays and senior independent director of PensionBee (a recently listed fintech). She has previously served on a number of boards in the financial, energy, and property sectors, including the Bank of England, Swiss Re, Centrica, and Aviva. Mary spent most of her executive career as a senior civil servant in the UK Treasury and the Prime Minister’s Office, and subsequently became director general of the Association of British Insurers. In addition to her plc roles, Mary is a senior adviser to the international relations think tank Chatham House, and is a member of the Takeover Panel Appeal Board.
