Executive experience: From 1993 to 215, Marie-José served as executive vice president and secretary general of Hydro-Quebec, a large Canadian-based corporation. A trained lawyer, she was a key player at Hydro Quebec for over 2 years.

Additional information: Marie-José is the past chair of the World Energy Council where she served from 213 to 216. During her tenure as chair of the council, she travelled the world, outreaching to its one hundred member committees, meeting with heads of state and energy ministers, and speaking on global energy issues. In addition, she is the vice chair of the advisory council of the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), based in the United States, and vice chair of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. In 29, the Quebec Bar rewarded her with the distinction Advocatus Emeritus in recognition of her contribution to the legal profession. In 216, she was appointed member of the Order of Canada in recognition of her outstanding support to many organizations involved in the arts and education. Marie-José holds a master’s degree in public law from the University of Ottawa (Canada).
