Executive Experience: Linda Harty is a proven board member and finance executive with broad-based experience across strategy, capital allocation, M&A decision support/execution, finance business partner, treasury, tax, and management accounting. Her experience crosses many industries including health care, telecommunications, industrials, and consumer products.

Linda serves on three board of directors, Parker Hannifin, Wabtec, and Syneos Health. At Parker Hannifin, a Fortune 25 global leader in motion and control technologies for diversified industrial and aerospace markets, she chairs the audit committee and is a member of the nominating and governance committee. At Wabtec Corporation, a leading global provider of equipment, systems, digital solutions and value-added services for freight and transit rail, she chairs the audit committee. At Syneos Health, the only fully integrated biopharmaceutical clinical and commercial solutions organization, she is a member of the audit committee and the compensation and management development committee.  

Linda previously served as vice president, treasurer of Medtronic, a global company specializing in medical technology, services, and solutions. She also served as executive vice president, treasurer and group CFO at Cardinal Health in Columbus, Ohio and has held financial leadership positions at RTM Restaurant Group, BellSouth, ConAgra, and Kimberly-Clark.

Additional information: Linda earned her undergraduate degrees in finance and economics from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh, and furthered her studies in accounting at Georgia State University. In November 1991, she passed the CPA exam with the highest score in Tennessee and in the top 1 in the USA, earning the Elijah Watt Sells Award. 

In the course of her executive career, Linda has overseen and advised on capital allocation and transformational M&A decisions such as choosing between global expansion via acquisition and capital spending in domestic infrastructure at BellSouth (2-23), evaluating and executing the $325 million sale of founder-owned RTM Restaurant Group (Arby’s franchisee) to Triarc (Franchisor) in 25, the spin-off of $4.4 billion CareFusion (medical technology division) from Cardinal Health in 29, and the $43 billion acquisition of Covidien by Medtronic and its re-domiciling to Ireland in 215. During the course of her board career, Linda has overseen and advised on six CEO and CFO transitions, five sizable and transformational M&A decisions such as Parker’s $4.3 billion acquisition of Clarcor in 216 and Wabtec’s $11 billion merger with GE Transportation in 219, and actively serves as a financial expert on all boards.
