Karen is the Medical Director of Clinical Pathways and Value-Based Cancer Care at Moffitt Cancer Center. She is board-certified in medical oncology and a senior member of the comprehensive breast cancer program at Moffitt Cancer Center.

Karen began her career in Tampa as a founding member of Moffitt’s Blood and Marrow Transplant program. She has also served as the President and CEO of the Cancer Therapy and Research Center in San Antonio, Texas, the Vice President of Global Academic Programs at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, and the Chief Medical Officer of the Nevada Cancer Institute before returning to Moffitt in 211. She works with Moffitt’s payer strategies group to define and implement value-based payment models. She is Moffitt’s PI for QOPI.

Karen currently chairs the Physician’s Advisory Committee for the Association of Dedicated Cancer Centers and is the Co-Chair of the National Quality Forum Cancer Measure Endorsement Standing Committee.

Karen received her medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed fellowships in medical oncology and hematology at the University of Cincinnati and the University of Florida Health Sciences Center in Jacksonville, Florida. She has more than 8 scientific publications.
