Karen E. Maidment

Karen Maidment is a corporate director. She has been director of TD Bank since September 2011, where she chairs the human resources committee and is a member of the risk and corporate governance committees. She is also a director of TDBANK Group US. She previously served on the TD Ameritrade Holding Corporation Board and chaired the Audit committee and served on TransAlta Corp, where she chaired the audit committee.

Karen served as chief financial and administrative officer of Bank of Montreal (BMO). She also held several executive positions with Clarica Life insurance company (formerly Mutual Life of Canada) including chief financial officer when Clarica completed the first demutualization of an insurance company in Canada.

Karen chairs the Princess Margaret Elders and previously was on the boards of the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation and the University of Waterloo.

Karen holds a bachelor of commerce from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, is a chartered accountant and, in 2000, was named Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario. She received an honorary  Doctorate of Law from McMaster University in June 2021.
