Executive experience: John is executive vice president and chief operating officer for Target and a member of its executive leadership team. His responsibilities include stores, Target’s global supply chain, merchandising operations, properties, and flight services. John joined Target in 1996 as a financial analyst, and during his tenure has held key leadership positions in finance, Target.com and human resources. In 212, John was promoted to his current position. While continuing to act as chief financial officer, he served as interim president and chief executive officer from May to August 214. In 215, John was promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer. 

Additional information: John graduated from the University of Wisconsin and earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota.
