John King

Americas Vice Chair - Assurance

John is EY’s Americas assurance vice chair. John previously served as the assurance managing partner for the Southwest Region, which comprises 12 offices across nine states. He is recognized for his leadership, focus on quality, strong relationships, and reputation in the marketplace. As Americas vice chair, assurance, John leads more than 2, professionals in audit, financial accounting advisory services (FAAS), and forensic & integrity services, driving over $5 billion in annual revenue.

John is focused on innovation and quality, as well as maintaining relationships across a wide range of stakeholders, including regulators. With a deep, cross-sector, client service background, John has served as coordinating partner and senior advisory partner for a number of Fortune 5 companies, as well as numerous startup and rapid-growth companies, across a range of industries, including IPOs and mergers and acquisitions. His most recent client focus has been in the energy industry, including refining, chemicals, logistics, and energy services. John has a deep background coordinating and overseeing large global audit and advisory teams.

He has served on the Americas assurance quality control committee, Americas assurance partner forum, and the global accounts partner group. In addition, he previously served as the controls and methodology leader (CAML) for the Gulf Coast area and the IFRS leader for the Southwest Region. John began his career at Arthur Andersen in 1992 and joined EY US in 22. He became an EY partner in 23.

Additional information: John serves on the University of Houston’s board of visitors, the board of the Bauer College of Business Foundation, and the Honors College advisory board. He also serves on the board for Junior Achievement of Southeast Texas, and he previously served as a board member at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeast Texas and the American Heart Association of Southeast Texas.
