John Hallmark

EY

John Hallmark is a principal and the US Political and Legislative Leader in the Office of Public Policy for EY, a leading global professional services organization that provides assurance, tax, transaction, and advisory services.

In this role, John advises EY on public policy positions and strategy and engages with congressional offices, federal agencies, and the administration on behalf of EY’s legislative and regulatory interests. John is a subject matter expert on financial services regulation and
the legislative and political processes of Capitol Hill. John brings 15 years of public policy experience to his role including legislative, regulatory and political expertise.

Prior to joining EY, He has served in roles managing issues before the Senate Banking
Committee and Senate Finance Committee, and at the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) where he was managing director of federal government relations. Throughout his career, John has worked closely with public and private sector stakeholders to formulate and implement strategic policy initiatives, including, tax, financial services and accounting legislation.

John collaborates across EY sectors and leadership to advance the collective interests of EY through public comment letters, advocacy on Capitol Hill and coalition-building among key stakeholders. He provides political and public policy analysis on current and emerging
issues that directly impact the accounting and auditing professions.

John has a BA and JD from Georgetown University. He attended the Harvard Leadership Program at Harvard Business School.
