Janice Sears

Executive Experience: Previously, Janice held the position of managing director, western region head in the Real Estate, Gaming & Lodging Investment Banking Group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. She was simultaneously the San Francisco Market president for the Bank. In this position, Janice deployed a $4 million annual philanthropy budget into San Francisco on behalf of the Bank of America Foundation.

Prior to 1999, Janice was Head of Client Management for BofA’s Commercial Real Estate Group in California. She oversaw relationships with clients including REIT’s, Homebuilders, and Opportunity Funds. Prior to 1988, she was a Real Estate Economist at both Chemical Bank and Citicorp in New York.

Additional information: Janice earned a BS in economics and a BS in marketing from the University of Delaware. Her professional activities have included: West Audit Committee Network, National Association of Corporate Directors, NAREIT, and ULI. Janice has been a panelist and lecturer at NAREIT, Harvard Business School, Columbia Business School, and The Fisher Center for Real Estate. She has been named ‘Forever Influential’ by the SF Business Times, was inducted into the Allen Matkins Hall of Fame, and has received multiple recognitions by Bisnow’s Bay Area Power Women, among other awards and speaking engagements.

Janice’s community activities include: past president and treasurer of SF Chapter of National Charity League, campaign steering committee for The Urban School, Capital Campaign for St. Anthony’s Soup Kitchen, co-chair of Aim High’s Gala, San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, San Francisco Economic Development Council, and San Francisco Leadership.
