Howard Carver

Executive Experience: Howard L. Carver retired from EY in June 22. He has 35 years of experience in management, auditing, accounting, financial reporting, and insurance. During his career, Howard assisted clients with capital raising and management, public offerings, insurance company demutualizations and GAAP conversions, start-ups, sales of companies and lines of business, dissolutions of businesses, corporate reorganizations and realignments, and many other financial and operations issues. He also has substantial experience as a board member, board chair, and auditor for civic/charitable not-for-profit organizations.

Additional information: Since June 22, Howard has been a member of the board of directors of Assurant, Inc. He chaired the audit committee until 213, when he became the chair of the nominating and governance committee. Since 25, Howard has been a member of the board of StoneMor Partners L.P. and a member of its audit committee. Effective January 213, Howard was appointed to the Pinnacol Assurance board of directors where he chairs the compensation committee and is a member of the audit committee.

From March 24 to March 25, Howard was under contract to EY to provide quality assurance review of XL Financial’s Sarbanes-Oxley project deliverables.

Howard received his BS degree from Bradley University (‘66) and his MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (’67). He is a certified public accountant and a fellow of the Life Management Association. 

Howard is actively involved in several community activities and is married with two grown children (Chad and Cindy) and one grandson (Nicholas).
