Gabrielle Evans

Health Equity Scholar

Brown University School of Public Health

Gabrielle Evans is a proud native of Stone Mountain, Georgia. Gabrielle is a 2022  graduate of Spelman College (Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. She is also a 2024 graduate of the Brown University School of Public Health, earning a Master’s Degree in the Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences. During her matriculation at Brown, she participated in the Health Equity Scholars Program, a leadership development program with a commitment to addressing inequities in health systems and outcomes. Gabrielle was inducted into Delta Omega Public Health Honorary Society at Brown. Currently, Gabrielle works as a consultant at the Rhode Island Public Health Association. In this role, she works on various projects with agencies in the state of Rhode Island, such as the Department of Health and the Partnership to Reduce Cancer in Rhode Island. She is responsible for creating reports using state data from the Department of Health  to advocate for more state funding for various programs. She works with community members by conducting focus groups and qualitative interviews to obtain community input. Gabrielle’s public health interests include behavioral addictions, social and behavioral determinants of health, and health communication. She aims to positively impact community health by developing behavioral risk reduction interventions and increasing health literacy through digital health communications.
