Executive Experience: Curt Espeland is the former chief financial officer and executive vice president of Eastman Chemical Company. Curt joined Eastman in 1996 and held multiple corporate and business finance positions before his appointment as CFO, including chief accounting officer; vice president, finance, polymers business group; vice president, finance, Eastman Division; and vice president and controller. Other positions include director of corporate planning and forecasting; director of finance, Asia Pacific; and director of internal auditing.
Prior to joining Eastman, Curt was an audit and business advisory manager with Arthur Andersen LLP in the United States, Australia, and Europe.
In addition to serving as lead director of Lincoln Electric Holdings Inc., Curt is a member of the board of Nouryon Corporation, where he chairs the audit committee. He also serves on the board at Huntsman Corp. Curt is on the Dean’s advisory council for the School of Business at Iowa State University.
Additional information: A native of Geneva, Minnesota, Curt graduated with distinction from Iowa State University with a BBA in accounting in 1986. He received an MBA with honors in 22 from the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business. He completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School in 28.
