Chris Thompson served as the chair and CEO of Gold Fields Limited from 1998-22 and was chair of the World Gold Council from 22-25. Chris is the founder and was CEO of Castle Group Inc, a manager of several mining venture capital funds, from 1983-28. Chris was also a partner and director at the investment bank Gordon Securities from1978-1982, Chris also held various roles in Anglo American Corporation between 1972-1978. He has served on more than 2 boards since 199, mostly in the mining industry.
Chris received a BA in Law and Economics from Rhodes University in South Africa and a master’s degree in Management Studies from Bradford University in the UK..
