Bill Anderson

Bill Anderson has been chair of the boards of Sun Life Financial Inc. and Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada since May 217. He joined as a director in 21 and chaired the audit and conduct review committee (now the audit committee) for four years prior to becoming chair.

Bill is a corporate director with an extensive background in business and finance. He held roles in the BCE organizations from 1992 to 25, including as chief financial officer for BCE Inc. and Bell Canada and as president of its BCE Ventures strategic ventures unit.

Prior to BCE, he spent 17 years at the accounting firm KPMG, including nine years as a partner.

Bill previously served on the boards of Gildan Activewear Inc., TransAlta Corporation, Nordion Inc. (formerly MDS Inc.), Four Seasons Hotels Inc, CGI Inc., and Sears Canada Limited.

Bill graduated from the University of Western Ontario. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario and a fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors.
