Bella Goren

Executive Experience: Bella earned her executive and chief financial officer credentials in one of the most competitive global industries. Her multifaceted career with American Airlines and AMR Corporation spans 27 years. Bella became a member of AMR’s Executive Committee in 26.  She was named CFO in 21 and held that position through the end of 213. Prior to becoming CFO, she lead the Customer Relationship Marketing organization. Her responsibilities included American’s call center operations, customer relations, aa.com, and the AAdvantage loyalty program.

Bella joined American Airlines as a financial analyst and held managerial positions in human resources and revenue management, before becoming AMR’s Director of Investor Relations. Bella also served as President of AMR Services, a provider of ground services at airports around the world. Upon the sale of that business by AMR, Bella assumed leadership of American’s Customer Services Planning functions. Her responsibilities were later expanded to also include management of Asia Pacific Operations. 

Additional information: Bella also serves on the board and is the audit committee chair of MassMutual Financial Group, a major non-public life insurance and financial services company. Earlier in her career, Bella was a chemical engineer for DuPont. She earned a BS in chemical engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from SMU. Bella resides in Dallas, Texas, and is active in both professional organizations and philanthropic efforts. She serves on the boards of The University of Texas at Austin School of Engineering, SMU School of Engineering, and the NACD of North Texas. She is also a member of the International Women’s Forum. She has been recognized as one of the 25 Most Influential Women in Travel by ForbesLife and named a Distinguished Engineering Alumna by the University of Texas at Austin.
