Alan Bennett

Executive Experience: Alan M. Bennett served as the president and chief executive officer of H&R Block from July 21 to May 211 and also served as the interim chief executive officer from November 27 to August 28.

From 21 until 27 Alan served as Aetna’s senior vice president and chief financial officer. From 1998 to 21, Alan served as Aetna’s chief accounting officer and from 1997 to 1998 as vice president and director of international internal audit. From 1985 to 1995 Alan served as senior vice president of sales and marketing for the Pirelli Armstrong Tire Company. Alan’s career began with Ernst and Ernst and he was awarded a CPA certificate in 1974.

Alan is the director and chair of the audit committee at Halliburton, is a lead director and audit committee chair of Fluor Corporation, and is the lead director at TJX Companies.  He has previously served as a vice chair and director of Susquehanna University, a director of Bausch & Lomb, and director of HR Block.
